BOOKING THE JOE DAVIS BAND
This show is for all ages. The JDB plays anything from a one hour show to a three hour madhouse concert. During a three hour set, the band will unload screaming guitar and drum solos, as well as acoustic numbers, all of which will be done in true arena rock fashion. Listed below is information regarding the booking, requirements, etc. needed to book The Joe Davis Band. There is also a partial list of cover songs that the JDB plays located at the bottom of the page.
All shows are contracted. Payment for all shows will be agreed on prior to show date, with half of the payment up front (check) and the other half, in cash, at the time of sound check. The Joe Davis Band uses two mic'd Marshall cabinets, a six piece drum set (two bass drums), a bass direct line and/or mic, and two vocal mics out front on boom stands. The drummer's and bassist's monitors should have a full mix. The lead vocal monitor should have nothing but vocals, however, guitars may be added if the sound gets to be cluttered. If the front monitors cannot be mixed separately, they should have the lead vocal mix only. See below for a diagram of the stage plot.
The JDB can use no less than a 20' x 20' stage to perform. The JDB must be allowed to have a volume/sound check on the day of the show, prior to performing. This is to ensure sound quality. The JDB has a large production including PA, lights, and a professional sound engineer, when needed, although there is no problem using house sound. The venue must have security. The venue must have a back stage door, adjacent to the stage that is locked, not chained. The JDB must be allowed to sell their own merchandise inside the venue on the day of and during the show. The JDB asks for a cooler with a 24 pack of water bottles on ice on the stage prior to performance. The JDB roadies will be clearly marked and will have ID on them at all times. This usually consists of three people. The JDB will never have an alcohol tab at the bar. The name of the band (THE JOE DAVIS BAND) must be on the marquee out front of the venue. The JDB generally does not ask for a guest list, unless it is to include business partners.
The JDB feels that it is important that each individual guest feel welcome and free to enjoy the music being played. In order to accomplish this, the band incorporates numerous, well-known cover songs into their setlists. The JDB has always been and will always be an original band, however, their love and respect for musicians and their music, both past and present, drives them to play these songs. Below is a partial list of songs that the JDB covers in their own twisted fashion.
